Four Canberra schools are either over or projected to exceed student capacity in 2016, figures released by the ACT government have revealed.

Giralang Primary School, Gold Creek junior school, Harrison Junior School and Telopea Park Senior School are on track for booming enrolments.
But despite welcoming the projections' release, at least one parents and citizens association from a school already at capacity said it did not see evidence of the government's long-term planning.
Releasing the figures, education minister Shane Rattenbury said the ACT public school system had experienced a 14.9 per cent increase in enrolments over the past five years.
"I hope that [the projection] gives greater certainty to parents that the government is planning for their children's future schooling needs," he said.
Paul Haesler, president of Telopea Park P&C Association welcomed the forward projections of enrolments, but said "we on the ground don't see a lot of evidence that the government's doing a lot of long-term planning".
He said Telopea had experienced big residential developments in the catchment area, and while limiting out-of-area enrolments would help, it wouldn't stop people moving into the area.
Last year, the government had attempted to take school land, in the form of tennis courts, in a land swap deal with the Canberra Services Club.
The figures revealed Gungahlin schools were bearing the weight of enrolment pressures, and the government in Tuesday's budget announced $20 million to provide an additional 680 spaces for students in the north.
This was in addition to $28.6 million committed to build a new primary school in north Gungahlin for the 2019 school year, Mr Rattenbury said.
The government has assured parents it is working with the schools to both ensure capacity is adequate and able to cope with future demands.
Pressured schools may limit out-of-area enrolments, and make "better use" of existing facilities and resources, Mr Rattenbury said.
In some cases new facilities would have to be built, he said.
At some schools, enrolment is expected to fall, the figures reveal.
Enrolments at Garran Primary School, where students are taught classes in the staffroom and library, is expected to fall below capacity by 2018.
At Richardson Primary School in Tuggeranong, enrolments were projected to fall to 124, from its capacity of 364, by 2018.
In April, shadow education minister Steve Doszpot tabled a motion in the ACT Legislative Assembly calling on Mr Rattenbury to make public the enrolment projections for all government schools for 2017, 2018 and 2019, including identifying those that faced the most enrolment pressure.
The Liberals on Tuesday in their budget reply, announced they would take money from the light rail to spend on schools - $85 million.
Of this, $60 million will go to upgrade government schools, $17.5 million will go to support students with special needs in non-government schools and $7.5 million will go directly to Canberra's four specialised schools.
The government on Friday released enrolment projections up to 2018.
"This data gives us a big picture overview of our schooling system and is a helpful tool to assist in planning for and managing growth in Canberra public schools," said Mr Rattenbury.
"It is important that we continue to evaluate and update this data, as it quickly becomes out-of-date as demographics change and we implement strategies to manage pressures."
