The cake-off will be held on Sunday, May 5 from 2pm in the ballroom at the Hyatt Hotel in Canberra. That's when people can come along and view the cakes and bid to take one home.
A baking spot with the cake-off has always been hotly contested and 2019 will be no different.
Only 50 spots will be up for grabs.
To be in the running, you need to register your concept. Nominations open at 10am this Friday, March 1. To register, go to pandsi.org
PANDSI chief executive Yvonne Luxford said potential bakers needed to get in quick.
"It's pretty much first in, first served," she said.
"We'll make sure there is no conflict in the nominations and have a variety of concepts."
Each baker will be able to raise funds for PANDSI through a GoFundMe page. People can also bid to buy each cake, with departments and companies in the past banding together to secure their favoured entry, with a massive morning tea assured.
The first PANDSI Cake-Off in 2016 set things off in a big way with bakers creating their fav from the Australian Women's Weekly Children's Birthday Cake Book.
"We've also done Canberra and Aussie Big Things so the logical next step was to take on the world,'' Dr Luxford said.
The Post and Ante Natal Depression Support and Information (PANDSI) service in Canberra provides in-person group and telephone support, information and referral services to mothers, fathers and
families affected by depression and/or anxiety during pregnancy and up to two years after birth.
Dr Luxford said there was a serious intention in the world cultures theme for this year's cake-off.
"We are a diverse community and we know families are facing cultural and language barriers in seeking help for perinatal anxiety and depression," she said.
Money raised from the cake-off will go to PANDSI, an already stretched service.
"At any one time we have a minimum of 750 families who could benefit from our services and we are only able to reach about 360. So we're only meeting about half of the demand," Dr Luxford said.
"It's heart-wrenching. We know there are families who need our help but who we can't reach."
