When citizens and historians ponder, a decade from now, the fall of Julia Gillard (whether at the hands of her party or the electorate), there will be long discussions of her achievement as the first Australian woman to become prime minister. But it will be also on her seeming inability to make a connection with voters, and the virtually non-stop chorus of sexist abuse and hostility directed at her.
