The theatre's latest production, opening on September 20, is The Confidence Man, an interactive thriller that's set in a suburban home.
The Confidence Man is described as part Hitchcock, part Lars Von Trier - a thriller about a complex, unravelling family relationship that sets the audience in the middle of the action.
Some audience members can take an active role in the play, equipped with masks and headsets to experience events personally.
Others can use headphones and a special console to eavesdrop on characters and choose which bits of the action they'd like to follow.
The show doesn't travel with a set - instead, the suburban house featured in the play is rebuilt at each new venue with props sourced from around the city.
"It's a really eco-friendly concept, the only problem is, there's a couple of things we can't find," says Street Theatre publicist Gabrielle Affleck.
So the theatre is putting out a call out to the Canberra community searching for the following items:
- A medium sized portable CD or cassette tape player, which doesn't need to be in working order
- A stable wooden outdoor chair
They'd love someone to donate either of those items - or they'll be happy to borrow and return them.
The theatre will organise for the items to be collected before September 15 and will return them to you on September 24.
