A 34-year-old Goulburn man allegedly threatened his former partner and with a kitchen knife and sexually assaulted her, police say.

According to police, the man was drinking at a pub on Wednesday night before he visited his former partner's home and violated a restraining order.
When the incident occurred, the woman managed to call a family member who then contacted the police. The man fled the home before police arrived.
On Thursday morning he was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault, contravening a restraining order, and being armed with intent to commit an offence.
The man was refused bail and was expected to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Thursday.
