Firefighters were called out to attend a grass fire near Belconnen High School at Murranji Street and Beetaloo Street in Hawker on Friday morning.

ACT Fire and Rescue and the ACT Rural Fire Service said they have extinguished the fire, which was approximately 10 metres by 20 metres in size and under control.
On Thursday, emergency services issued a total fire ban for Friday as temperatures are expected to rise to 35 degrees in Canberra and winds expected to pick up to 40 km/hr in the afternoon.
Three units were on scene at 11:40am.
