Her father Alan who has been running the street food van The G-Spot in the carpark of the Gunghalin Lakes Golf Club since 2001 has decided to step back and let his daughter take over the reins.

Best known for for its outgoing and friendly customer service and their humorous Aussie take on street food - try the Fat Bastard (burger with eggs and bacon) or the Boob Tube (chicken and bacon wrap), The G Spot regularly draws large crowds wanting a late night feed and a sticky beak at hot rod cars which often circle the venue.

Dale wanted a break from the chef scene and her father was having a hard time finding a chef to take over.

“My dad told me that the hours were getting too hard for him and asked if I had ever thought of taking over," Dale said.

"My partner Sophie and I didn’t see a reason why not.”

Dale admits she "grew up" in the van and knows she doesn't have to change much.

“We are going to stay true to everything Mum and Dad have put together and worked hard to create and will absolutely do our best to continue that while bringing in a few sets of fresh eyes,” Dale said.

“If we changed anything too much the customers will boycott us. We will be using my culinary background to slightly refine the menu.”

She's pulled inspiration from her Asian cuisine background to create the "Mr Miyagi burger", an Asian-inspired pork roll, and added vegetarian options such as the "Mr Fun Guy burger" to attract a broader range of customers. However she assures the classic fan favorites are not going anywhere.

“It’s not all about selling food and making money, for us it’s about the community and getting to know the people who come to the van. My dad has an amazing rapport with the customers and we want to do my parents proud.”
