Hawke turns the air navy blue

Bob Hawke has lived up to his larrikin image by dropping the F-bomb during a live broadcast to mark the 30th anniversary of Australia II's 1983 America's Cup victory. Mr Hawke was sharing the stage at Thursday's luncheon in Sydney with skipper John Bertrand and syndicate owner Alan Bond when he launched into a joke about a Frenchman, an Englishman and an Australian, which ended: ''There goes your f---ing canoe.''
