Burns have been taking place around the city since Tuesday morning.
Piles of logs and pine debris are still being burnt off over 230 hectares at the Kowen Pine Forest, under the watchful gaze of four firefighting units and an officer.
A 23-hectare burn at Black Mountain Nature Reserve concluded on Wednesday, as did a burn in Aranda.
The strategic burns are designed to reduce the fuel loads around the ACT.
The combination of smoke and fog on Wednesday created a haze around Canberra which grounded flights and clouded the city's icons.
People are urged not to call triple-0 for these fires but to report any other new fires which are unattended by firefighters.
Nearby residents with asthma, other chronic respiratory or cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke.
Those affected by asthma should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
