Altitude Apartments, a project of Hindmarsh Development and Hindmarsh Construction, will be officially opened on Wednesday.
ACT Hindmarsh development manager Brett Smith said about 300 of the 348 apartments in the two-building project had been sold and just one of seven penthouses remained.
The penthouse has floor-to-ceiling windows showing both north and south views and is expected to sell for about $1 million.
He said there was a mix of owner occupiers and investors in the tower but he expected there would be many apartments in the complex appearing on the tenancy market.
The second, smaller building in the Altitude project featured three-bedroom apartments favoured by live-in owners, Mr Smith said.
Altitude Apartments is located between Chandler Street and Emu Bank and is adjacent to the Belconnen bus interchange.
Hindmarsh was also required to upgrade the public domain area and the company has transformed the library walk that connects Lake Ginninderra with the town centre.
Mr Smith said he thought the tower had been welcomed by the residents in the area.
''I think that the Belconnen community has shown a reasonable acceptance to increase density around the town centre and can see the benefits this sort of density in the town centre is bringing,'' he said.
''With the 500-odd residents living in the area it should certainly assist local businesses to prosper and thrive in the future as well.''
Construction on the project began in May 2011 and it was completed six months ahead of schedule.
Sites for a restaurant and a cafe have been sold and two commercial sites are still available.
The Altitude Apartments will be officially opened by Deputy Chief Minister Andrew Barr on Wednesday at 2.30pm.
