A fire has caused $350,000 damage to a house in the south Canberra suburb of Waramanga.

ACT Fire and Rescue was called to the house fire on Woralul Street shortly before 1pm Sunday.
It was initially feared that an elderly woman may have been trapped inside but a search revealed no one was inside at the home.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire by about 1.35pm.
The building was a house divided into a duplex. One end was extensively damaged by smoke and fire while the other was smoke damaged.
ESA said part of the house's roof was at risk of collapsing because of damage caused by the fire.
The initial damage bill is estimated at $350,000.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but will be investigated.
