The fourth edition of the markets showcase independent Australian designer and vintage fashion, jewellery and accessories.

New Acton will also play host on Saturday to The Forage food market event and the grand opening of a Max Brenner store.

Organiser Tegan McAuley said there would be12 more stalls despite the markets losing some of the Nishi foyer area to Max Brenner.

''Hotel Hotel is opening up more space for us, and there will be more stalls in their foyer,'' she said.

The markets will have a strong focus on Canberra designers and makers.

''We have 14 of the designers from Fashfest coming,'' Ms McAuley said. ''They're going to be showcasing a lot of their collections that hit the runway earlier this year.''

While the New Acton precinct is an ideal setting for the event, parking can be difficult and Ms McAuley suggests visitors look to neighbouring areas to park.

''I'm recommending that if people can't find a park in the precinct, northsiders should park at the London Circuit car park or around ANU,'' she said.

''People coming from the southside can park over in Kattabul Place West Basin and walk over the footbridge.''

Hustle&Scout has teamed up with Vinnies to support its winter appeal, and market-goers are encouraged to bring along donations.

''Basically they're looking for good quality blankets, socks, beanies, scarves, any kind of winter warmer items, but there's a serious shortage of blankets, so that's the main thing they're looking out for,'' she said.

There will be collection bins between Hustle&Scout and The Forage, and the Vinnies night patrol van and staff.

''It's a great opportunity for people to come, bring a blanket to keep themselves warm at The Forage, and then donate it on the way over to Hustle&Scout,'' she said.
