Police say they have secured ''very encouraging'' information from the public on four unsolved homicide cold cases since they boosted rewards dramatically three weeks ago.

Rewards for information leading to a conviction for the murders of Frank Campbell, Kathryn Grosvenor, Irma Palasics and Susan Winburn were increased to $500,000 on September 7 as part of a concerted effort by homicide detectives to reinvigorate their investigations.
Authorities have since received dozens of public tip-offs on the murders, something the head of the homicide investigations team, Detective Sergeant Matt Innes, says has been ''very positive''.
The homicide squad is now working through the fresh leads, but cannot comment on their new avenues of inquiry for operational reasons.
The flow of information has not dried up since the announcement earlier this month.
Detectives have received new tip-offs on the homicides.
Detective Sergeant Innes urged Canberrans to continue coming forward with any information ''no matter how small'' or how seemingly insignificant.
''Any details which people may recall, no matter how small, may help police in building a more complete picture of how these terrible crimes occurred and we urge people to contact police if they think they can assist,'' he said.
The rewards for the murders, which took place between 1999 and 2005, were each increased to $500,000 in an unprecedented move by ACT Policing and Police Minister Simon Corbell.
All four murders were brutal and are thought to have been carried out in cold blood.
Susan Winburn, 45, was killed in what was believed to have been a burglary gone wrong. She was found strangled in the bath of her Gordon home at 81 Knoke Avenue on January 13, 2004.
Canberra woman Leanne Maree Madden was convicted of a break-in at the home on the same day, but police have not been able to lay any charges over the murder.
Childcare worker Kathryn Grosvenor, 23, was found dead in Lake Burley Griffin, her body weighed down by a concrete bollard believed to have been taken from Anthony Rolfe Drive in Gungahlin. She had been stabbed more than 60 times.
Ms Grosvenor was last seen leaving her house in Moriarty Street, Nicholls, about 9pm on March 3, 2002, to buy cigarettes at the George Harcourt Inn.
Information on the murder of Frank Campbell had not attracted a reward prior to this month.
But police hope the $500,000 reward will solve the mystery behind his death in early May 2005.
Mr Campbell was found with fatal wounds from blunt force trauma to the head in his Mawson unit.
He is believed to have been murdered on May 1 or May 2 in 2005.
The homicide investigation into the murder of Irma Palasics on November 6, 1999, is the oldest of the four cases being investigated.
The reward for the case was increased by $100,000 to $500,000, as part of this month's announcement.
Mrs Palasics, 73, was murdered in a home invasion at her house on Grover Crescent, McKellar.
Mrs Palasics and her husband Gregor, 74, were tied up, gagged and beaten, while two balaclava-clad men ransacked their home for money and jewellery.
Mr Palasics, who has since died, freed himself and called police, but his wife could not be saved.
Police believe two previous burglaries at their home in Red Hill in 1997 and in 1998 were linked to the fatal burglary at their McKellar home in 1999.
