Jackie French's tips on growing hibiscus

The label on the small black pot said "edible hibiscus" so I assume that's what we've grown. It was a gift from a plant supplier I've used for years, to see if they'd grow in our climate. They do. They look gorgeous, too, dark yet bright-red branches and leaves, far brighter than so called "red" lettuce leaves that only manage a faint blush.
