Education and Training Minister Joy Burch has welcomed federal moves to crack down on private colleges, but is unaware of any shoddy providers in the ACT.

The federal government announced this week the Australian Skills Quality Authority would investigate 23 registered training organisations after widespread allegations of students being tricked into signing up to the vocational courses.
Ms Burch said she was not aware if any of the 23 RTOs delivered training in the ACT.
"I am not aware of any complaints in the past year from parents or students regarding RTOs exploiting the VET FEE-HELP program," she said.
"I do not believe the ACT has a problem with unscrupulous RTOs and in my discussions with training providers there is general consensus across the board that poor training organisations have no place in the field."
Laws introduced by the federal government last week will allow the government to create quality standards at short notice and ensure marketers make it clear which RTO is providing a course.
Ms Burch said the ACT referred to the skills authority last year complaints raised by one RTO about another training provider which "potentially targeted vulnerable students signing up to the VET FEE-HELP".
The the accused organisation was based in Queensland and had never delivered government subsidised training in the ACT.
NSW Fair Trading Minister Matthew Mason-Cox said last week nearly 600 consumers had complained to government of being tricked into the student loans or issues with refunds and cancellations.
The ACT government will shortly release a "statement of expectations of behaviour" for RTOs operating in the territory.
