The notoriously dangerous Kings Highway has been voted as the worst road in the ACT's surrounding region in a nationwide survey of over 15,500 drivers.

The NRMA released the results of the Seeing Red on Roads survey this morning, which identified the worst roads across the ACT and NSW according to road users.
The Kings Highway was ranked the worst road in the region, closely followed by the Barton Highway, Majura Road in Majura, the Hume Highway, and the Monaro Highway.
Surprisingly, Canberra drivers also listed "narrow lanes" and "traffic congestion" as chief concerns on the territory's roads.
NRMA's regional director Alan Evans said Canberra still had many lanes that were not wide enough for peak hour traffic.
"They have made it quite clear through this year's NRMA Seeing Red survey that they want wider lanes and more lanes to reduce congestion," Mr Evans said.
"We do recognise that we have some of the best roads in the country - but there are still many roads that are not wide enough to cater for peak periods," he said.
He said the ACT Government needed to "think out of the box" to find creative ways to fund crucial road infrastructure.
