The first stage of Doma Group's $160 million precinct on the old Dickson motor registry site has been given the green light.

Doma lodged two development applications for four new building on the site at the beginning of the year.
This week the southern side of the DKSN precinct, a joint venture with Doma Group and Englobo, was approved, Doma said. The notice of decision is yet to be released, with the government saying it was still being finalised.
DKSN is short for Dickson.
The southern side will be home to public servants, with 96 one, two and three-bedroom apartments as well as restaurants and commercial spaces.
The ACT government will take up about 13,200 square metres of office space with a 20-year lease at the southern part of the site. Access Canberra and a cafe will take the ground floor, opening on to Northbourne Avenue, where the new tram will run and also on to a new "Civic Plaza" which will join the northern side of the precinct.
The second half of the development, which is yet to be approved, originally proposed another two buildings but has been amended to have four towers: two residential buildings with 186 apartments, and 10 small offices, each 500 square metres, across two buildings.
Doma Group and Englobo also have seven projects in the Kingston Foreshore.
Doma Group development manager David Jameson said the precinct would challenge "everything people think they know about Dickson".
"With office and residential spaces that consider lifestyle without compromising on location - this precinct will create new life in this urban transport hub,” Mr Jameson said.
Work on the "campus style and atria office space", basement carpark and a mixed-use development including a first-floor childcare centre would begin next month with the first tenants in by early 2020, he said.
Once approved, the second half of the site should be finished six months after the southern side, Mr Jameson said
“The precinct boasts an impressive collection of amenities, including a 90-place childcare facility, medical
practice and the Melbourne inspired outdoor eat-street Challis Lane,” he said.
In April last year, developer Doma won the right to redevelop the site, buying the land for $35 million.
Doma will start selling apartments off the plan in August.
