In 2014, wildlife biologist John Brickhill moved to Canberra from Griffith NSW where he had worked with the National Parks and Wildlife Service for 38 years. He had lived for decades on a twenty hectare bush block and, on old crop land, he planted hundreds of trees and shrubs but fruit trees were thwarted by birds, wallabies and ten years of drought.
