Mr Carville, 52, was wrapped in a black and white floor rug and covered with rocks and branches when police discovered his badly decomposed remains dumped in a dry creek bed on Defence land in Majura last November.

Milan Urlich, 28, fronted court last week charged with murder and interfering with a dead body in relation to his death.

His older brother, Marc Urlich, 43, pleaded not guilty to being an accessory after the fact to murder, and interfering with a dead body, in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday.

Fresh details of the alleged killing emerged as Marc Urlich's defence team made a bail application in court on Wednesday.

Police facts tendered in court alleged Mr Carville was killed at his house the night of November 4 after Milan Urlich went to the property to help a friend move.

Milan Urlich then allegedly put Mr Carville's body, wrapped in the rug, on the back of his ute before he drove to Majura.

Police will allege he crashed the ute through gates and fences before a flat tyre caused him to come to a stop in a paddock.

Milan Urlich was allegedly picked up by a witness, who phoned police, as he walked on the side of the road in Wamboin the next morning.

He allegedly gave false details when he was questioned by officers, who said he appeared intoxicated and took him to Queanbeyan Hospital.

Defence employees were alerted to the ute and reported it to ACT Policing, but for some reason police were not dispatched.

Mr Carville was reported missing later that day after friends went to his house to find the front door open and his wallet, cigarettes and phone on the table.

Police will allege the brothers moved Mr Carville's body into the creek bed before dumping the ute at Molonglo Gorge after Marc Urlich visited from his home in Victoria on November 13.

He left the ACT the next morning.

Police found the dumped ute on November 14 and questioned Milan Urlich over Mr Carville's disappearance the next day.

A search of Mr Carville's house revealed a single black Nike shoe in the hallway and blood that matched his DNA on the front door handle.

His remains were found on November 19. He allegedly wore a black shoe that matched the shoe found at his house.

An autopsy revealed he suffered rib fractures and died of strangulation. The knife was found tucked into his jeans.

Police arrested Milan Urlich last Wednesday and charged him with murder. He has not entered a plea.

Marc Urlich was arrested on Saturday when police saw him leave the Alexander Maconochie Centre, where his brother is behind bars.

Defence lawyer Steven Whybrow said Marc Urlich should be bailed on grounds the prosecution seemed to have relied on a series of assertions and there was no information before the court to implicate his client.

He said the lack of evidence strengthened concerns his client had been charged to put pressure on his brother.

"The prosecution has not provided any evidence. This is not a matter for which Mr Urlich should be kept in custody."

Prosecutor Shane Drumgold said it wouldn't be appropriate to provide more details because the police investigation was ongoing.

"At this stage that simply can't be ventilated," he said.

Magistrate Peter Dingwall said he was reluctant to lock the defendant up based on a weak prosecution case that lacked evidence such as phone records, DNA samples or witnesses.

"Surely Mr Whybrow is entitled to ask on what reasonable grounds his client was arrested," he said.

"What I'm being asked is, 'Trust us, we've got the evidence but we're not going to tell you what it is'."

Mr Dingwall reserved his decision.

Marc Urlich waved to family members in the court as he was remanded in custody.

The case returns to court on Thursday.
