And Canberrans are expected to be there in droves as Canberra captures the national spotlight again, one day after the budget, but this time for all the right reasons.
Connie's Big Heart Project is being held at the Lyneham netball courts at 435 Northbourne Avenue on Wednesday, May 10, from 7am to 8pm.
Gates open at 7am, with Connie Johnson and her brother Samuel laying the first coin at 8am to fill in the world's biggest heart made of five cent pieces - and donate all money to the Garvan Institute and cancer research.
The pair have already raised $4 million for cancer research, through their organisation, Love Your Sister.
The day will also be an emotional goodbye and thank you to Connie as she bows out of public life to spend time with her family in the final stretch of her own breast cancer fight.
Wednesday will be an emotional thank you and goodbye to Connie, a Canberra mum-of-two, who has ceased treatment for final stage breast cancer and now wants to spend time with her family. Her goal has always bring cancer to its knees and ensure no other mum has to say goodbye to her children.
ACTION has donated free shuttle bus services from the Hayden Drive side of the Australian Institute of Sport to the #bigheartproject every half hour between 9:15am and 2:15pm, then 6pm-9pm. People are encouraged to use the shuttle buses as parking will be limited on the site.
The Big Heart Project will continue until 8pm. Canberrans can come down at any time during the day and add their five cent pieces to the heart.
If you can't make it on the day, you can still contribute.
Schools, workplaces, people at home who want to make their own Big Heart of five cent pieces on the day are encouraged to snap a picture and upload to social media with: #BigHeartProject #nowisawesome #LoveYourSister
Then make a donation at any branch of the Bendigo Bank across Australia. All donations will count to the final tally on the day.
The event will also have a area for kids' activities with a jumping castle, velcro wall, giant lawn games, sand art and colouring-in, guessing competitions, face painting and balloon modelling, magicians, clowns, fairies, a Lego table, unicycle lessons and more.Love Your Sister merchandise will also be for sale.
Brumbies Rugby players and Canberra Brave Ice Hockey team members will be on site from 3pm to play games with visitors.
We even hear Questacon will be bringing back their glowing fairy floss - and conducting experiments including possibly setting fire to Samuel.
