Lyneham High School was placed into lockdown on Friday morning after a student came to school armed with a knife.

It is understood the Year 8 student was wielding the weapon, prompting classes to be suspended and police called.
The ACT Education Directorate confirmed the high school was placed under lockdown because of the incident, which is now being investigated by ACT Policing.
A police spokesperson said no one was injured during the incident.
"The school went into lock down as per normal procedures," the spokesperson said.
"Police investigations are ongoing and it would be inappropriate to comment further."
An ACT Education Directorate spokeswoman said staff responded quickly and professionally, while students were commended for the way they followed the lockdown procedures.
"The safety of our staff and students is always our priority and this matter was resolved successfully and the school returned to normal operations," she said.
