The concrete bridge segments are steam cured to offset cooler temperatures. A tarp is placed over the concrete and then steam is used to set the concrete.

According to ACT Territory and Municipal Services, this is a commonly used process which helps the concrete cure quicker. As the weather gets warmer this process may not be necessary.
