A man who allegedly choked a person unconscious during an alleged domestic violence incident will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday.

ACT Policing said the 35-year-old Ngunnawal man had been charged with one count of choke person and render insensible, one count of reckless threat to kill a person, and one count of common assault. The charges stem from an alleged incident on Saturday.
After a separate and unrelated alleged incident on Saturday, a 34-year-old Kaleen man has been charged with common assault. He will also appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police said the alleged victims in both cases received medical treatment.
“To choke, suffocate or strangle another person, whether or not you render that person unconscious, is an incredibly serious offence and police will respond accordingly”, Acting Superintendent Jason Kennedy said.
