A Canberra man who went on the run after a magistrate sentenced him to three months jail is back behind bars, a court has heard.

Jesse Scott, 24, managed to escape from the ACT Magistrate Court on August 20, just after Magistrate Bernadette Boss jailed him for possession of stolen property.
Scott eluded the authorities for three weeks until he was arrested in Hall on Friday afternoon.
He appeared before Special Magistrate Ken Cush, where he was charged with escaping custody, drug-driving, and not showing L-plates.
Scott did not apply for bail.
He indicated he would plead guilty to the driving charges, pending legal advice.
Scott said he thought the Aboriginal circle court had been meant to sentence him in August, not Dr Boss.
Before the court appearance, police said a man was captured after a two-hour chase – where he allegedly crashed into unmarked police cars – in the capital's north about lunchtime.
Police said they found the man in Gibbes Street shortly before 11am, but he attempted to flee in a car, crashed into several unmarked police cars, then fled from officers on foot.
Members of the public reported police dogs were used during the hunt, which included car checks in the Hall area.
Scott has not been charged in relation to the incident on Friday, but police said an investigation was under way.
