A 31-year-old with a disqualified licence was caught driving 215 kilometres per hour in a 110 kilometres per hour zone on the Hume Highway west of Yass on Sunday night.

The Victorian man, driving in a Victorian registered Holden Commodore, was travelling south near the NSW village of Jugiong at about 6.20pm, NSW police said.
Police first detected the car to be travelling at 159km per hour.
They then followed the man, and the second time detected it travelling up to 215km per hour in a 110km per hour sign posted area.
Police then stopped the vehicle and issued the man with a field court attendance notices for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h, driving at a speed dangerous to the public and driving while disqualified.
He will appear at court at a later date, police said.
