Lawyers representing Harrison William Elliot, 20, and Shannon Lyndsey Orford, 39, appeared in Queanbeyan Local Court on Monday and said the pair would fight charges linked to the blaze.
Mr Elliot and Mr Orford each face one charge of setting fire to the property of another and one charge of failing to comply with a total fire ban.
The Carwoola fire ripped through 3500 hectares of land, completely destroyed eight homes and damaged a number of other buildings.
The case will return to court in mid October.
