But when you're a husky-kelpie who was adopted from the RSPCA five years ago, it's about as good as it gets.

Murrumbateman Winery's adorable cellar door welcomer was also joined by about 50 new four-legged friends on Saturday, as Mollie's Block Sauvignon Blanc was unveiled.

Winery owner Bobbie Makin, 32, said Mollie had become a major part of his life after ticking the boxes in a quick game of throw and chase at the RSPCA headquarters in 2010.

"She meets and greets every person who comes to our winery for the first time or second and third, and guides them to a tasting," he said.

But the label's name comes from Mollie's favourite area of the winery, where the grapes for the sauvignon blanc grow and she can regularly be found among the vines or going for a swim in the dam.

The new drop sells for $25, with five per cent of profits going to the RSPCA ACT. Consumers of this year's vintage are promised flavours of golden pear and pineapple, "with herbaceous hints, aromas of daisy and a dry refreshing finish".

RSPCA ACT chief executive Tammy Ven Dange said she loved hearing the frequent stories of what great pets adopted animals made, but Mollie was a rare case.

"Becoming part of a wine family, absolutely, I've heard of, and a farming community, but I can't think of any others in the region that are on the label," she said.

"Rescue animals are the best breed in our opinion, because they all know they're getting a second chance."

Mr Makin said while his cheerful canine friend did have a nip on the odd grape, there was no need for a direct taste test for her to enjoy the day.

"She is full of energy, she's like this is dog heaven, so many dogs to play with," he said.
