Firefighters have extinguished a fire that engulfed a house in Monash and caused its roof to partially collapse.

ACT Fire and Rescue were alerted to the fire on Derry Street about 1.37pm on Thursday.

They arrived at the property about 1.51pm to find it "fully engulfed by flames".
Crews will remain on scene to continue mopping up and checking for hot spots after the fire caused an estimated $350,000 in damage.

The cause of the blaze is unknown but a search of the property indicated there was no one at home when the fire started and it is believed no one has been injured.
ACT Fire and Rescue has three pumpers, breathing apparatus support and a commander at the scene.
