Two children have been hospitalised after a driver veered onto the wrong side of the road and ploughed into oncoming traffic in Dunlop on Monday.

At least one occupant of a black Toyota Rukus fled the vehicle after it collided with a grey Mazda sedan travelling with the children in the opposite direction, according to police.
Police said the Toyota driver headed into oncoming traffic between Florey Drive and Lance Hill Avenue while travelling down Ginninderra Drive towards Belconnen, and the Mazda driver tried avoiding a crash by mounting the curb.
Both vehicles sustained "extensive" damage when they collided about 5.45pm, ACT Policing said.
Paramedics arrived to treat the Mazda driver, a 41-year-old mother, and her two children, before taking them to hospital.
ACT Policing is urging the Toyota driver to contact police on 131 444 or at any police station.
Police have asked anyone who may have any information or dash cam footage that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
