The weekend’s search, which police said on Saturday could involve 100 people, was held after ACT Policing reviewed its information already in hand.
ACT Policing again did not identify the person at the centre of the case on Monday.
"No further comment will be made regarding the identity of the missing person case that the search related to, for both the sake of the family and in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation," a spokesman said.
"The case of Robert Jacob is one of a number of active missing persons investigations," he said, referring to a man who was last seen in Canberra's city precinct in November 2015.
Police searched the western and northern sides of Mount Ainslie, within an area bordered by the Australian War Memorial, the suburbs of Ainslie and Hackett, and Mount Majura.
Anyone with information that may help police in any missing person case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website.
