Mr Fluffy a step closer to resolution, despite Commonwealth parsimony

The Commonwealth's offer to the Territory government of a concessional loan of up to $1 billion to buy back and demolish homes containing remnants of loose-fill asbestos will come as welcome relief (of a sort) to the many hundreds of Canberran families trapped fast in the Mr Fluffy web. The emotional toll this crisis has exacted on victims since it first came to public notice in mid-2013 is extensive, and something of its intensity can be gauged from impact statements tabled in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.
