ACT Policing has confirmed it received reports of "possible aggravated robberies" on Tuesday, January 30 between 5.40pm and 5.55pm at Red Rooster, BWS and Coles Express. Coles Express and Red Rooster are both on Rylah Crescent, while the BWS is nearby on Sangster Place.
Police said the incidents on January 30 were "possible aggravated robberies", but the incident at Red Rooster on Wednesday January 31 was an aggravated robbery.
Police believe the three incidents on January 30 were linked, and investigations are ongoing into all incidents.
It is unclear if the offender was armed, with some locals telling Fairfax Media they had heard a male offender brandished a knife as part of the robberies. ACT Policing said "any weapons that may have been involved in these incidents form part of the ongoing investigations".
Business owners in Wanniassa had mixed reports about the incidents, with some unaware that the incidents had been reported, and others recalling seeing police officers outside their businesses.
ACT police encouraged anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or on the website.
Coles and Red Rooster have not commented on the incidents, with a Coles spokesperson saying the company was unable to comment on police matters.
