Four Narrabundah duplexes knocked down and then assessed by the Heritage Council have been posthumously declared without historical significance.

Community groups applied in 2015 to have the former public housing units assessed for heritage value after the ACT government announced they would be demolished and replaced with new public housing stock.
A report released this week - more than a year after the original buildings were knocked down - found the former two-storey duplexes were not eligible for the heritage register.
In a statement, the Heritage Council said the Boolimba Crescent units had not met any of the relevant criteria.
"There was a large number of duplexes, and other medium to high density housing, built in the post‐war period, reflecting the changing demands for housing in the ACT and the planning and social policies of the time," the document said.
"This is an important aspect of the ACT’s cultural history, however the council has determined that there are other examples in the ACT that are of a higher importance and consequently the Narrabundah duplexes do not meet the threshold for this criterion."
The Heritage Council acknowledged the significance of the buildings to past and present residents and the Old Narrabundah Community Council.
"However, it is unclear how much this value is held by those without an immediate association with the place," it said.
During nomination, community groups noted some of the duplexes had Art Deco features and were of a distinctive red brick design.
Inner south residents had separately expressed concerns about the impact of more public housing tenants in the suburb.
The Heritage Register nomination was made three months after development approval was handed down, and demolition proceeded despite calls for a halt to work while assessment was completed.
When demolition started last year Old Narrabundah Community Council president John Keeley said he felt "crap".
A Housing ACT spokeswoman confirmed the Boolimba Crescent duplexes were demolished on January 9 last year with construction on new units starting early the next month.
The houses were handed to Housing ACT on November 8 the same year, she said.
"The nine units were used to accommodate eligible people from the public housing register," she said.
"The units are 4 x two bedroom; 4 x three bedroom; and 1 x three bedroom class C adaptable (designed for all ages and abilities, including all 'essential features')."
Also rejected for the ACT Heritage Register was the Murrumbidgee River corridor, the Canberra Nature Park and the former Churchill House in Braddon.
