Reports of Canberra's "Antarctic vortex" may have been greatly exaggerated, but the capital is in for another cold, wet and windy week.

On Monday, Canberra's top temperature was a chilly 13.4 degrees, reached just after 2pm.
Weatherzone senior meteorologist Brett Dutschke said the rest of the week would be colder, with more wind and rain on the way.
Canberra is also set to get back to negative overnight lows, with minus 4 degrees expected on Wednesday.
"Basically the message is a cold week ahead," Mr Dutschke said. "Monday is the best day we're going to see until next weekend or possibly early next week."
The arrival of another cold front on Tuesday will see an overnight low of minus 1, followed by a top of 9 degrees with cloud and the chance of showers developing in the early morning or evening.
With significant wind expected, it could feel as cold as 2 or 3 degrees for most of the day on Tuesday.
"It could be a day that is very slow to warm. It might still only be about 5 or 6 degrees at lunchtime," Mr Dutschke said.
Rain is more likely late on Wednesday, along with clouds and some warmer air. Canberra's forecast top is 10 degrees.
Thursday will be the second coldest day of the week ahead with a good chance of rain all day and plenty of wind likely. The top temperature is expected to be 10 degrees.
"You will get a pretty significant wind chill going on Thursday and it may only feel as warm as 5 or 6 degrees at the most," Mr Dutschke said.
After a low of minus 2 on Friday, Canberra can expect a top of 11 degrees.
Forecasters expect the wind to drop off at the weekend, combining with clear skies for tops of 11 degrees on Saturday and 13 degrees on Sunday. Overnight lows will be minus 3 on both days.
Mr Dutschke laughed off reports of "Antarctic vortex" conditions anytime soon.
"There won't be one in Australia or the ACT," he said. "The vortex will stay pretty close to Antarctica this week."
The weather is having an impact on roads around Canberra.
The New South Wales Transport Management Centre said the Monaro Highway remained open between Bombala and Cooma on Monday, but warned of slushy ice and snow on the road.
There are also reports of slush on the Snowy Mountains Highway between Cooma and Brown Mountain, while Braidwood Road remains closed in both directions between Cooma and Braidwood.
Various roads in the Kosciuszko National Park remain closed or affected by snow and ice. Alpine Way is closed in both directions between Dead Horse Gap and Khancoban and there is snow and ice on Adelong Road between Tumbarumba and Batlow.
A spokeswoman reminded motorists in snow affected areas to "drive to the conditions, exercise extreme caution and check the latest traffic information before they head out".
Snow has continued to fall around New South Wales and southeastern Australia. Thredbo reported receiving about 25 centimetres on Monday.
The state's south coast and Snowy Mountains could see localised damaging winds averaging up to 65 km/h with gusts to 100 km/h.
The State Emergency Service advises drivers to move vehicles under cover or away from trees. Homeowners should secure or put away loose items and residents are warned to keep clear of fallen power lines.
