Beloved children's performer Peter Combe will teach a new generation of Canberra children to wash their face with orange juice and brush their teeth with bubblegum this weekend.

The ARIA award-winning entertainer, whose hits include Mr Clicketty Cane and Newspaper Mama, will perform with 30 ACT students at The Playhouse on Saturday.
Charnwood-Dunlop Primary pupil Ryu Nguyen was one of 30 children in the ACT Instrumental Music Program chosen to perform with Combe.
The 10-year-old described the performance as a dream come true.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform with your role model of music," he said.
Ticket sales have been strong for Combe's Live It Up ... And Bellyflop in a Pizza tour, particularly in Canberra, Combe said.
On Friday night he performed an adults-only concert for nostalgic Canberrans.
New and old hits would be on offer on at the all-ages show on Saturday, he said.
"It's kind of nice because it reaffirms for me that the songs are fairly timeless," Combe said.
"My philosophy of children's songwriting is any song for children which is any good at all ... does tend to sort of exist not in a timeframe - it'll be kind of around in 20, 30 years ahead."
Live It Up is Combe's first album in about five years and touches on silly, familiar themes as well as climate change.
"[It's] a very simple song about climate change because I thought that modern day children are the ones that are going to suffer from climate change," he said.
"It's not a big moralistic thing, it's a very gentle one, just sort of talks about the basics of what's happening.
"All the nonsense songs I do, there's a lot of those still."
Tickets to the 2pm performance of Live It Up ... And Bellyflop in a Pizza at the Playhouse Theatre are available through Canberra Ticketing and the Canberra Theatre Centre.
