Police were called to the scene about 5.15am where they located an unconscious man who was struck in the back of the head.

Following the assault several fights broke out in the area and officers intervened.

Six people were arrested and charged with relevant offences. A number of exclusion directions to leave the Civic night club precinct were also issued.

Police believe several others left the scene prior to speaking with police.
