Police believe they have found the body of a man missing after he was swept away while swimming in the Murrumbidgee River near Wagga Wagga on Christmas Day.

The body of the 25-year-old Iranian national was discovered by a volunteer rescue team at about 8.30am about one kilometre downstream, according to the Daily Advertiser.
Local police said earlier on Monday morning it was unlikely they would find the man alive.
The tragedy took place when two men were swimming at Oura Beach, 15km north-east of Wagga Wagga, at about 6.45pm on Thursday and they got swept down the river.
One man, in his mid 20s, managed to swim to shore, while the other man, aged 25, had not been seen since.
Local police attended and started the search along with volunteer rescuers.
The search spanned Friday, the weekend and Monday with the assistance of volunteers and police divers.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Victorian police also announced they had found the body of a six year old boy who was swept away on Saturday while swimming with other children in the Murray River at Koondrook.
The man's disappearance came as ACT Minister for Sport and Recreation Shane Rattenbury urged Canberrans to take care in the territory's waterways.
The warm weather and holidays are drawing people to the Murrumbidgee and swimming spots such as Uriarra Crossing, Casuarina Sands, Kambah Pool, Tharwa Sandwash, Pine Island and Cotter Bend.
Mr Rattenbury said swimmers should take note of safety signage, particularly relating to water depth and submerged objects, always supervise children and refrain from swimming after drinking alcohol.
"People should not be afraid of the water, but they should be aware of a few simple precautions they should take to stay safe," Mr Rattenbury said.
Similar safety awareness was important for those using backyard and public pools.
