On Tuesday ACT Policing join with their colleagues to commemorate fallen officers in a series of memorial services across Australia and the south-west Pacific Region.
A dawn and evening service will be held in the Canberra region to remember the 757 fallen police officers enshrined on the National Police Memorial, four of whom were from the ACT.
ACT Policing chief police officer Rudi Lammers said no police officers have died in the line of duty over the past 12 months in Australia.
But they stand in solidarity with their colleagues in the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary who have lost five officers in the last year, he said.
"It is a day when we gather to remember, reflect and honour those officers who lost their lives in the line of duty," CPO Lammers said.
"We remember our past fallen colleagues, whose names are on the wall of remembrance, for the commitment and sacrifice they made."
Police Remembrance Day will begin with the Monaro LAC and ACT Policing dawn service, hosted by ACT Policing and NSW Police at the Queanbeyan Police Station at 5.30am.
The day will conclude with a national evening service held at the National Police Memorial, Wendouree Drive, Kings Park, ACT, at 4.30pm.
Members of the community are invited to join ACT Policing in commemorating fallen police at both the Monaro LAC and ACT Policing Dawn Service and national evening service.
