Police are investigating leads after releasing pictures of two men they allege are responsible for a "cowardly attack" on a taxi driver in Macgregor on September 6.

In the incident, one of the men allegedly punched the driver in the face repeatedly while the other grabbed the driver's hands behind his back, demanding his wallet.
Police allege one of the men also threatened to stab the driver.
The men had asked the driver to take them a short distance from Osburn Drive to Seccombe Place in Macgregor and then attacked him when he arrived and asked them for the fare, at around 5:30am.
The men ran away towards Southern Cross Drive after the driver hit the horn.
Police have released photos of the alleged offenders and are seeking public assistance to help identify them.
One man is described as Caucasian, clean shaven about 25 years old and about 180 centimetres tall. He was wearing black plants and a black hoodie,
The second offender is described as about 20 years old and 170 centimetres tall. He was wearing a red, hooded jumper and dark pants.
Belconnen Patrol Constable Dominique Reynish, working on the case, described the attack as "cowardly".
