Staff at the Canberra Hospital responded to a power outage on Wednesday afternoon that resulted in a code yellow internal disaster warning.

Power was restored to the hospital at 6.15pm and the code yellow warning was stood down.
ACT Australian Nursing Federation secretary Jenny Miragaya said power generators had been used at the hospital with staff following planned guidelines.
Ms Miragaya said the code yellow classification was a technical term that meant staff needed to prepare contingency plans.
An ACT Health spokeswoman said ActewAGL had been called to solve a number of electrical issues with a switchboard at the hospital.
The Health spokeswoman said the outage had a "minimal impact on hospital operations, and patient care or safety had not been compromised in any way".
"Canberra Hospital and health services has well-tested contingency procedures in place for such situations."
The spokeswoman said an emergency control centre had been established within the hospital as a contingency measure.
Another source said Calvary Hospital had prepared to take patients from Canberra Hospital if required.
The source said patients would only be required to move if the generators failed, or the power did not come back on.
