Owners of the "Kingsborough Village" development at the Kingston foreshore have lodged an application for another six-storey building on the block, including warehouse-style apartments.

Block owner John Gasson said there would be 79 apartments in the Powerhouse, 18 of them warehouse style. The warehouses would be 82 square metres and have a basic bathroom and kitchenette. Priced from $420,000, all had sold already, Mr Gasson said.
The development would also include 26 one-bedroom apartments, each 50 sq m - all but three of which had sold off the plan. Five bigger apartments were being built across three levels, with basement garages and lower level rumpus rooms, living room and kitchen on the street level and bedrooms above.
The development includes 26 serviced apartments.
The ground floor of the Powerhouse development would house two commercial spaces.
The Powerhouse, designed by Fred Kasparek, would be "a stunning solid industrial statement", he said.
The $20 million Powerhouse development, at 17 The Causeway, joins an apartment and retail development already approved for the 1.3 hectare block. Mr Gasson said a development application would be lodged for the final block on the site in the coming months.
Mr Gasson said the first stage of the Kingsborough Village site would be finished later this year, with 122 shops and some apartments. Before the end of the year, the second stage would be completed, with 12 terrace houses and 14 other apartments. All up, the block would have more than 240 dwellings when finished.
"I wanted to create a village that was not just the same concrete blocks but hire different architects, four in fact, to make it have more of a village vibe," Mr Gasson said.
