He's been sleeping with Australians for more than 30 years - and pyjama king Peter Alexander was more than happy to share a few Canberra secrets while in town recently on a pre-Christmas promo tour.

1. There won't be a Canberra pyjama range any time soon
Boxer shorts featuring the Australian War Memorial? A nightie with Old Parliament House on the front? Not any time soon, according to Peter.
"Politicians - let's face it - are not top of the list of fuzzy things people like to think about," he laughed.
"So a Canberra range might be pushing my creative flair a tad.
"But I do love Canberra. I'm desperate to try Jamala Lodge - I'm obsessed with animals and the thought of sleeping where you can see them roaming sounds amazing."
2. We're obsessed with dachshunds and Ninja Turtles
Three of the top five items purchased by Canberrans in the Civic Peter Alexander store feature sausage dogs.
The number one item (now owned and worn to bed by thousands of Canberra women) is a pair of Ladies Penny the Wonder Dog shorts, featuring Peter's late dachshund Penny.
"Anything that features my dog Penny - she was like my heart in fur - is always my favourite," Peter said.
"She became the ambassador for the brand early on because I myself wasn't quite pretty enough, and to this day - even though she passed away 12 years ago - she still adorns a lot of my pyjamas.
"I still get such a kick when I walk down the street and someone's carrying a shopping bag and there's Penny."
The top-selling item for men in Canberra is the Men's TMNT Pizza PJ Set and for children it's the Kids Daxie Bow Nightie.
3. We're getting a new store in Woden
A new store will open at Westfield Woden in 2017, to mark Peter's 30th year in business.
It'll be stocked with super sparkly nighties, as well as pyjama pants Peter was allowed to design "from the heart".
"For the 2017 anniversary collection I was allowed to do whatever I wanted!" he said.
"I normally have to have my commercial head on but it was so nice to be able to say 'Let's add more sparkle! Let's camp it up!'
"Peter Alexander is all about happiness and smiles and fun and the joy of your childhood experiences."
