Police went to the units on Forbes Street after a man allegedly phoned triple-0 from his bathroom and said he was hiding from three bikies who were in his living room looking for him about 6am on Saturday.

Nathanial Paton, 27, faced court with Darin Paul Keir, 37, and Brent Douglas Collins, 26, on Monday, charged with aggravated burglary over the alleged home invasion that eventually led to a four-hour police stand-off.

Collins has pleaded not guilty and denied any links to outlaw motorcycle groups. Keir and Paton have yet to enter pleas.

Court documents said one man inside the unit at the time of the incident told police he'd answered the door to one of the intruders, who then pulled a replica pistol from his pants.

The alleged offender said he was looking for another man, who lived in a nearby unit, as he was linked to the Rebels and possibly owed a drug debt.

Officers said they found two women, who appeared "shaken and visibly upset" on the lounge, as well as the man who phoned police hiding in the bathroom.

One of the women is alleged to have said the trio booted down the door before one offender hit a man inside and said they planned to take his brother hostage and kill him.

The woman said she let the men sit inside the unit as they "smoked a couple of bongs" before police came knocking.

They allegedly found Collins and Paton in separate bedrooms. Keir was found in a nearby unit and arrested several hours later.

Paton returned to the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday, when prosecutors opposed his bail application.

His Legal Aid duty lawyer said the allegations were serious but the precise nature of the incident and his client's involvement remained unclear.

He said Paton denied he went to the flats to enforce a drug debt and said he didn't force his way into the unit or threaten people inside.

Magistrate Campbell asked Paton's lawyer to ask his client if he was a Rebels member, to which the defendant replied: "Yeah."

Prosecutors said the man's involvement with the Rebels was concerning, though acknowledged it wasn't grounds to refuse bail, and said there were further concerns Paton would interfere with witnesses if released.

Ms Campbell said it was obvious "something unpleasant" happened the day of the alleged home invasion, but agreed Paton's involvement in the incident was not clear.

"It's the oddest statement of facts which has everyone sitting down and smoking a bong at one stage," she said.

She granted bail, "with considerable hesitation", on conditions Paton live at Giralang, report daily to police, not contact witnesses and comply with a curfew.

He returns to court on May 31.
