Directions Health Services chief executive Fiona Trevelyan said contracts for the $1.4 million, four-year deal for the Murrumbidgee region were signed with the NSW government last month.

It follows a deal of the same price for the Goulburn area announced in February.

"2016 has been a good year for Directions thus far," she said.

"Our (base) contract with ACT Health should be renewed, and I think for a further three years."

The core funding covers the counselling and case management service, Arcadia House residential program and the needle and syringe program managed on behalf of the ACT government.

Ms Trevelyan said she was also hopeful the additional "one-off" ACT funding to assist methamphetamine users in the community, delivered this financial year and worth $90,000 across nine months, would become ongoing.

"All of the feedback we've had from clients, at an individual level and from our community advisory group, has been incredibly positive of the importance of this, supporting people at very vulnerable times," she said.

She said she understood ACT Health would be renewing its contracts with all its alcohol and other drugs service providers.

The Murrumbidgee services, hoped to be running by August, would use a similar model to that in Goulburn and be based in Wagga Wagga, with coverage of the Cootamundra, Young and Narrandera areas.

Directions' Goulburn-based service opened its doors on Wednesday and was ready to receive referrals.

It was the organisation's first move beyond the nation's capital in 40 years, and will involve offering a range of services to children and adults as that region deals with a tripling in its rates of ice users seeking emergency department help.

Ms Trevelyan said a new demountable building for Arcadia House in Bruce, freeing up extra space for at least one bed, should be handed over to the organisation by the end of the month.

An ACT government spokesman said funding decisions would be announced in the June budget.
