Residents of the Florey street where a teenage girl was seriously injured in a hit and run on the weekend are calling for heavier police presence in the area.

Four years ago, a cyclist slammed into a bus full of school children on Krefft Street in the north Canberra suburb.
One resident said she saw a woman lying on the ground after being hit by a car on the same street two years later.
And on Saturday night, police say a car hit a 13-year-old girl near the intersection of Krefft and Boswell streets before fleeing the scene without stopping. The young girl was in a stable condition in the Canberra Hospital on Monday.
Neighbours are concerned that injuries will continue to arise from motorists driving dangerously on the street.
Krefft Street connects the off-streets of two schools - Florey Primary School and St Francis Xavier College - and is a three-minute drive from Latham Primary School.
Wayne Smith, who lives on the street, said he has called the police multiple times about cars speeding far beyond the 60-kilometre speed limit, particularly past corners with poor visibility.
"It is shocking here," he said.
"They need to put speed bumps or something, it's a real speedway."
Another resident, Karen Da Silva, said she saw an injured woman lying on the corner of Krefft Street and Ratcliffe Crescent about a year ago, and wasn't surprised to hear of another incident on the street.
"There have been quite a few crashes on the corners of the street," she said.
Witnesses are yet to contact ACT Policing about Saturday's incident.
Acting Superintendent Susie Ball urged the driver of the vehicle to speak with investigators.
"We need to know and understand what took place and the best place to find these answers is for the driver to come forward and speak with us," she said.
"The family and victim in this matter needs answers to what occurred and these answers start with the driver coming forward."
ACT Policing Collision and Investigation Reconstruction Team urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw a silver Toyota Corolla driving in the Krefft Street area about 6pm Saturday to contact police on 131 444.
