Australian National University has bolstered security at its Acton campus amidst a spate of violent robberies.

Two men were bashed and robbed on campus last Friday night. One of the men was taken to Calvary Hospital with facial injuries.
Police believed the attacks were linked to three earlier robberies on the ANU campus between last Tuesday and Friday and one at the University of Canberra on Tuesday.
ANU Vice-Chancellor Brian Schmidt said the university had increased security on campus and was working with ACT Policing to protect students.
"I urge all members of the ANU community to take extra care while moving around the campus, particularly at night," Professor Schmidt said in a statement.
"I encourage anyone who is walking or cycling around the campus at night to keep to the lit pathways, and remind students and staff they can contact security at any time to organise an escort from their building."
ANU Student Association president Ben Gill said, while there was always more that could be done to improve safety on campus, students felt "comforted" by the extra security guards.
"While we've improved lighting on campus throughout the years we're still not where we need to be as a campus to promote safety so I think that's an ongoing concern," Mr Gill said.
"We do have one of our libraries, Chifley, which is open 24/7, we do know that library usage spikes at this point of the year so students are staying later, some students are staying up until 6am in the morning and going home so campus has a lot of foot traffic during the evening periods as well.
"I think students are comforted by the fact security is aware of the situation and that they're there to help and that security has a reasonable presence throughout the whole year but there are always going to be a few students who are, perhaps because of their experiences, very likely to be concerned about the situation and will probably adjust their behaviour over the next two weeks."
The alleged offenders are described as Caucasian men aged in their 20s, about 183 centimetres tall and wearing black hoodies. One of the offenders was also wearing a multi-coloured bandanna.
