They may earn a crust as salesmen and IT experts during the week, but a select group of high-altitude adrenalin junkies are hell-bent on breaking a national wingsuit formation record.

Ashleigh Darby is one of 30 experienced wingsuit pilots who will descend on Goulburn Airport in December in an attempt to break the record set by a rival West Australian wingsuit group.
"They managed to have 16 people in formation at one time, but we want to double that," he said.
"We want to blow them out of the water."
The group, whose members hail from Canberra, Sydney and other east coast locations, gathered in Goulburn last week to practise, but failed to beat the record as one or two people fell out of formation on each attempt.
"Preparation for the national record is looking challenging but achievable," he said.
"[Last week] all pilots learnt that we have a big task ahead and valuable knowledge was gained by all, from advanced to the least-experienced wingsuiter."
Mr Darby, who has used a wingsuit for five years, said he was watching YouTube videos with friends one day and said, "Wow, we've just got to get involved".
"I feel like I'm in a jet fighter," he said.
"It's very intense and everything is moving so quickly when you're travelling about 200 to 250km/h, so you've just got to react to the moment."
He said the first 10 jumps were the most terrifying and involved a lot of praying, but the body eventually got used to it.
Mr Darby said Goulburn Airport was the perfect location to break the record because it was a flat area with open airspace and no issues with aircraft.
