An awe-inspiring display of about 500 snow domes, those little bubbles of kitsch.
The lovely Sally Hopman, the hard-working media liaison manager at the National Library of Australia and former journalist at The Canberra Times, tell us her snow dome collection will go on display at the Canberra Museum and Gallery from October next year, running over summer, until February 2019.
Now that's what we call a blockbuster exhibition. Who can resiste shaking the snow of a snow dome and peering into the little world inside?
Sally says she actually has about 700 snow domes which she has been collecting for 20 years.
"My fave snow domes - although it's like naming your favourite children - include Nelson Mandela and one which has a picture of Katoomba's scenic railway inside the dome but says Sydney Opera House on the front," she said. Says it all, really.
