Australian actress Jacki Weaver took time out from filming Foxtel political mini-series Secret City on Wednesday night to check out the opening night of Sydney Theatre Company's The Wharf Revue at Canberra Theatre Centre.

The two-time Academy Award nominee, who plays a Labor powerbroker in the show, said the cast and crew were finishing up filming in Canberra this weekend before heading to Sydney for a further five weeks of shooting. She will then return home to Los Angeles.

Jacki said she was impressed with all of Canberra apart from one aspect, asking "could you sort out the weather?" suggesting it was on the chilly side.
