Mr Rattenbury has accused the Liberals of ripping off the ACT government's yoursay.act.gov.au website, with its new public consultation portal haveyoursay.net.au, which launched last week.

In Tuesday's adjournment debate, Mr Rattenbury said while encouraging more public feedback was a good move, the two sites were so similar it would be easy to mistake the two.

"What I can't decide is whether this is designed to be deliberately deceitful and confusing, or whether it simply reflects the fact that the Liberal Party has so little imagination that it could not think of a site name of their own?" Mr Rattenbury said.

"I am concerned about this as it has the potential to undermine the system that allows people to provide their concerns and feedback to the government.

"I am concerned that this is a cynical and deceptive attempt by the Canberra Liberals to usurp existing community consultation processes and it needs to be called out."

But Canberra Liberals leader Alistair Coe said it was ironic Mr Rattenbury was prattling on about transparency when he deleted a tweet that appeared to promote the Libs' website.

The Liberals also wrote on Mr Rattenbury's Facebook page, "Thanks for the free publicity", although the comment appears to have since been deleted.

Like the government's website, the Liberals' site asks Canberrans for their views on hot button issues, starting with a new stadium, dog attacks and public housing.

It comes as the party look for ways to build their links to the community before the 2020 election.

"The difference between any so-called consultation mechanism the ACT government might have and the Canberra Liberals' initiative is that we actually listen and the views we hear will direct our efforts and policies," Mr Coe said.

"I think people are sick of the ACT government's sham consultation which simply gives lip service to Canberrans."
